Leave that notice of Half-Life (Episode) 3 but come soon, because our patience has long run out! The images are from circa 2008 and therefore not necessarily representative of the current state of the project, but its great to see new media, nonetheless. Was Valve right when they called off the project or did the game still have potential? We will never know, but we still would have liked to try a Half-Life the Arkane’s. More concept art from Half-Life: Episode 3 has been released finally. Next we see a head crab playing around with a bloody head. In the video we see a human zombie who first plays dead, but then starts to bang on the environment very violently. For example, there is a meter for ‘absorption’ which may mean that certain areas in the Episode were dangerous to your health because the zombie virus was very present. We see some new things on the screens and in the video. Waking up in a pile of rubble outside the Citadel, Gordon finds that the Citadel is about to undergo a catastrophic meltdown and that the Combine plan to use the event to send a distress signal to their home world. Despite the fact that “cool stuff” was being made, Valve did not think the game was progressive enough and the project was canceled. The first expansion pack, Episode 1, picked up directly where Half-Life 2 left off.

Four-year-old images from Valves apparently abandoned episodic first-person shooter series surface, depict apparent return to Xen. The game is said to have been in development at Arkane Studios (known for their most recent hit Dishonored) between 20. Half-Life 2: Episode 3 concept art surfaces.
